Shipping Update: February
about 6 years ago – Sun, Feb 25, 2018 at 10:18:43 PM

Hello!
The game is finally shipping. Within the next few months, everyone should have No Honor Among Thieves in their hands.

I sent out an email blast about this, but apparently some people didn't get that, so here's the current timeline for when the ships carrying the games from China will reach port:

US: March 23

Australia: February 24

EU: March 8

Depending on where you are in the world, you'll be getting your game either in March or April, possibly May if you live super far away from any fulfillment centers.

If you've moved since giving me your address, this is your last chance to let me know what your new address is so you get the game shipped to where you're actually at rather than where you used to be at. Please let me know!

Thanks for bearing with me thus far. Your patience is about to bear fruit.

Cheers,

Adam

Shipping Out
over 6 years ago – Sat, Jan 27, 2018 at 12:38:18 AM

Hello, friend.

Good news: the games are moving! Later than I’d hoped, as you're probably aware, but we’re getting out the door before Chinese New Year shuts everything down over there for a month, which means we’re earlier than I’d feared. So I’m pretty happy with it overall.

To help deliver games to some backers more quickly, I’m going to be working with a couple more fulfillment centers than originally planned, with freight shipments going to Aetherworks in Australia and VFI in Asia (I've already talked about this a little bit in the comments on the main campaign page). This won’t change anything for North American or EU shipments (which are being handled by Quartermaster Logistics in the US and GamesQuest in the UK, respectively), but Australian and Asian backers should end up getting their boxes a bit earlier than they would have under my initial shipping plan.

From here, how long things take is pretty much entirely out of my hands. The different freight shipments will make it to the fulfillment centers at different times, and the shipping time to you from your nearest fulfillment center will be different depending on how far away you are and at what point you show up in the fulfillment spreadsheet, so I really can’t give you an accurate estimate of when you’ll have the game in your hands except to say that it will probably be sometime within the next two months. I’ll keep you posted as the process continues.

Art Book and Surprise Con Appearances
over 6 years ago – Wed, Dec 20, 2017 at 10:11:45 PM

Two things today, with better news than I had last update.

1) The art book is now done and published, for the hundred and eighty-four backers who wanted it. If you pledged for The Gallery, or for the Wealthy Sponsor Pack that includes it, you should have gotten an email with instructions on how to download your copy. If you haven't seen that, and you know you should have, check your spam filter, and if it's still not there let me know.

2) A backer asked me last week if I was going to be demoing No Honor Among Thieves at OrcaCon, a game convention in Bellevue, Washington, since I'd moved to Seattle a few months ago and am therefore close enough to get there by bus. I hadn't heard about the convention before, and hadn't made plans to go, but I reached out to the people running it and managed to get a demo table for a few hours during the con. I'll be demoing the game on Saturday, January 13th, from 10am to 1pm. If you're in the area, stop by and check out the final version of the game.

That's all for now. I'll keep you posted if anything else happens.

Cheers,

Adam

Delays from the Coins
over 6 years ago – Wed, Dec 13, 2017 at 11:40:52 PM

I'll keep this short: I've got an updated schedule from my account manager at the manufacturer, and I'm definitely going to miss the December delivery schedule that I'd been working from up to now. At this point, based on the numbers I'm seeing, you're likely going to be getting your games in February, possibly even March for backers who live further from the fulfillment centers. I'm really sorry about this, especially for the people I know were hoping they'd have their games by the holidays. I hate to have to tell you about more delays this close to the end--hopefully this is the last one. Fingers crossed.

I'll keep you posted if anything changes.

The Great Copper Mixup (Possible Delays)
over 6 years ago – Fri, Dec 08, 2017 at 10:39:08 PM

I've got some bad news that I only just learned about today.

It seems that months ago there was a mixup in communication between my account manager and I regarding the quantities for the plastic coin tokens that needed to be made for the retail version of the game. The details are complicated, and are partly my fault (due to inexperience in formatting quotes and spec sheets the right way, and not paying attention to details that I thought had already been settled) and partially their fault (for forgetting what they'd sent me in the pre-production copy), but the end result is that they made 50 copper coin tokens per game, and no silver, instead of 30 copper and 20 silver. I just got off a Skype call with my account manager, and he's looking into how long it will take them and how much it will cost me to fix that mistake. My hope is not long and not much, but I won't know for sure until Monday or Tuesday.

If this mixup does end up delaying things too much, I'm going to try and look into getting the Kickstarter version of the game onto a boat from China first, and having the retail version freighted over on a later ship. I don't know if that will be possible with my current funds--I can only afford my original shipping budget because I sold the car that I left behind in Vermont when I moved across the country (pro tip to all you other enterprising publishers out there: make absolutely sure before putting together your stretch goal plan that the stretch goals are actually included in the summary line of the quote that you're basing your decisions on, instead of being split off as their own separate set of numbers)--but I'll see what I can do.

On the bright side, we also went over the rest of the MCC during the call, and it looks fantastic. Every card is accounted for, it all looks great, the dice feel right, the box is absolutely fantastic. Plus, I'm going to end up getting twelve-thousand extra bronze-colored plastic tokens, since they already manufactured the wrong quantities. So that's kind of neat. I'll have to figure out something cool to do with those.

I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,

Adam
